Doña Ana County Assessor Eugenia "Gina" Montoya Ortega, was elected in November 2022, and she took office on Jan. 1, 2023.

The Assessor’s Office provides:

• A fair and equitable assessment of taxpayer’s real and personal property at a reasonable cost.
• A well-maintained, current tax base upon which local government can base tax levies.
• Meeting or exceeding the requirements of the State of New Mexico for level of assessment and uniformity by constant market analysis.
